General Statement of Duties
The high school Weight Room Monitor is responsible for designing and supervising strength and conditioning programs tailored to student-athletes’ needs. Key duties include teaching proper lifting techniques to promote safety, monitoring workouts to provide guidance and motivation, and tracking each athlete’s progress. The Weight Room Monitor also collaborates with coaches to ensure training programs align with the specific demands of each sport. In addition, they are responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring a clean and organized facility, and fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, and hard work. This role is essential in helping students build strength, reduce injury risk, and improve overall athletic performance.
- Enforces the school’s weight room rules and expectations
- Ensures fair and equitable access to the weight room for all groups and teams
- Promotes a positive, focused, and respectful training environment
- Encourages teamwork, accountability, and a strong work ethic
- Ensures all equipment is used properly and returned to its designated place
- Cleans and sanitizes weights, machines, and workout areas regularly
- Inspects equipment for damage and addresses safety concerns promptly
- Maintains an organized, safe, and clutter-free facility
- Coordinates with coaches to implement sport-specific training programs
- Supports team goals and seasonal strength and conditioning plans
- Stipend amount will be prorated based on actual start date if the assignment has already begun.

Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrated ability as a strength and conditioning coach
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with effective communication and the ability to mentor and motivate student-athletes
- Coaches with prior collegiate experience are strongly encouraged to apply
