General Statement of Duties
Under the guidance of the classroom teacher, the Instructional Assistant provides essential support with the implementation of the Early Learning Preschool instructional program.
- Provides one on one instruction or tutoring with students
- Provides behavioral support to students
- Assists with classroom management and behavior modification
- Assists with field trips, community-based instruction, and other activities
- Assists students with personal care tasks,
- Assists with creation, organization, and distribution of instructional materials
- Reports student concerns directly and promptly to the teacher and assists with student resolution
- Assists with breakfast, lunch and snack, including clean-up
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Regular attendance is required
The minimum annual salary for this 10-month/204-day/7.25 hour per day.

Minimum Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 to 50 pounds occasionally, and may assist, move, or restrain students when required to intervene in student safety issues.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, lift, walk, stand, and hear.General knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in classrooms; ability to maintain records and confidentiality; ability to operate audio visual, standard office and computer equipment; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, parents, students and administrators.
Must be able to follow oral and written directions, maintain order within a classroom independent of the teacher, and possess a working knowledge of computers.
Must have completed a minimum of 42 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
