General Statement of Duties
Provides a variety of routine case and program support services for Mental Health and Developmental Services; does related work as required.
Provides a variety of prevention support services to Mental Health and Developmental Services in an hourly capacity for the Connect Program; does related work as required.
In an hourly capacity, provide tutorial, educational, and recreational support during program hours (2 - 6 pm); primarily for elementary and middle school youth in a community-based program during the school year and half-day during the summer program. Facilitate small group activities and assist with field trips. Provide transportation related to program activities.
• Co-facilitates parenting classes and assists case managers in planning class content and objectives.
• Provides transportation for adults and children to appointments, clinics, playgroups, and parenting classes.
• Assists clients in using County and community services and reports challenges with service utilization.
• Serves as a playgroup aide, planning and implementing activities; purchases supplies and maintains equipment.
• Performs routine administrative support including obtaining required verifications and arranging appointments.
• Completes forms, files documents, answers phones, and performs data entry as assigned.
• Participates in case conferences when appropriate and provides input on client needs.
• Maintains records and prepares routine reports on work performed and issues encountered.
• Follows established procedures and carries out assigned tasks according to plans.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Some knowledge of mental health and developmental services and service provision; some knowledge of resources available to clients; some knowledge of everyday needs and problems of different client groups; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with children and adults, co-workers, and the public; ability to carry out tasks according to plans; ability to perform routine office duties such as filing, answering the phone, and completing forms.
The pay rate for this position will be $19.05 per hour.
Possession of valid Virginia driver's license with no more than -2 points. A DMV record check will be completed.
TB Screening and Child Protective Services Registry Check required, if offered employment.
This is an hourly position with the County and will not exceed 29 hours per week. Connect hours of operation are 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school and one (1) year of public contact or human services work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
