General Statement of Duties

Performs technical paraprofessional civil engineering and supervisory work in the field and in the office; does related work as required.

Essential Duties
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering
  • Knowledge of all types of building and utility construction practices and methods; ability to read and Interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Considerable knowledge of County building and utility codes and of State codes
  • Ability to perform engineering work of average complexity
  • Ability to prepare detailed design plans and to prepare engineering specifications
  • Ability to work effectively with and to develop good public relations with engineers and architects
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of employees
  • Physical condition that permits such activities as occasional work under adverse temperatures and/or weather conditions

This position reports to DPU Design at 4305 E. Parham Road.

Minimum Requirements

Two (2) year degree in a related engineering discipline, and three (3) years of related paraprofessional engineering experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
