General Statement of Duties
The training program is designed to provide a short-term opportunity for an individual to learn different aspects of the School Nutrition Services program, improve technical skills and become familiar with the traits and abilities needed to become a Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Prepare food
• Assist in record keeping and supporting functions
• Assist in handling funds
• Operate cash register
• Be proficient in all aspects of computer operation
• Serve on service line
• Assist with kitchen cleanup
• Assist with ordering food and supplies
• Operate all kitchen equipment
• Assist in storeroom and stock management
• Assist with administration of prepays and student account maintenance
• Attend meetings as required
• Attend training sessions required
• Perform related work as assigned
• Fill in managers and Assistant Managers as directed
• Must be able to travel to different schools
• Assists in implementing and enforcing all polices and guidelines
• Assists in maintaining standards in food quality, customer service, sanitation, safety, and professional appearance
• Attends work daily and is engaged and on task
• Performed related work as assigned
This is a 202-day/7.5-hour position. The salary will be prorated based on the official position start date.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D. with minimum of one- year’s food service experience. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal service, safety, sanitation, and cleaning methods. Ability to do a variety of mathematical functions, keep accurate records, handle currency. Must be able to communicate effectively, make decisions, work under pressure, have a professional appearance and possess organizational and time management skills. Ability to direct and supervise the work of others. Must be able to work in warm environment, be on your feet for long periods of time and lift 50 pounds. Must become Serve Safe certified with (9) months of employment and maintained an active certification.
