General Statement of Duties
Locates, selects, and compiles basic architectural?engineering data and prepares reports for the construction, maintenance, modification, or renovation of school facilities.

Prepares maps, line drawings, charts, designs, and layouts to scale; AutoCAD experience required
Prepares working drawings and specifications for renovation, remodeling, and/or alteration work to be
performed by the Department
Prepares specification front end documents for small in-house projects
Performs field measurements and documentation for small projects and record documentation
Maintains the historical library of HCPS construction documents (drawings and specifications; hard copy and electronic)
Maintains inventory of school trailers and serves as liaison with vendors for any repairs to leased facilities
Knowledge and ability to work with existing county GIS system desiredKnowledge and experience with Revit desiredMay perform overtime work
Collects and organizes statistical data essential to the preparation of plans and specifications;
Assists with compliance with all county, state, and federal building codes;
Prepares and makes requests for relevant permits (building, utility and planning);
Maintains and enhances a database of all school data including warranties, permits, projects manual libraries, drawing libraries, etc.;
Coordinates small projects within the Department of Facilities;
Utilizes computer skills in AutoCAD, GIS, and the Microsoft Office Suite;
Engages, stays on tasks, and be a self-starter;
Attends work regularly - regular attendance is required
Performs other duties as assigned.
This vacancy is open until filled for the 2026-27SY in the Department of Facilities. Starting annual salary is $51,007.57 (24.52 hourly). The salary is prorated based on the official start date or based on promotion policy for internal candidates.

Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school, trade school or vocational school with architectural drafting experience. Experience in preliminary design, preparation of working drawings and specifications for construction/maintenance projects. Ability to read and interpret engineering/architectural plans and specifications. Ability to compile engineering/architectural plans and drawings from rough sketches and oral instructions. AutoCAD experience required.
