General Statement of Duties

Patches and repairs broken plaster work; replaces lath and studs as required; applies plaster to new construction; handles sheetrock and applies tape on joint work as required

Essential Duties

    Knocks down old plaster work to repair walls and ceilings

    Repairs cracks in old plaster work, matching type of  materials

    Repairs holes in sheetrock and applies appropriate finish

    Constructs metal stud walls

    Applies tape on joints and plasters newly constructed partitions

    Performs overtime work on a scheduled, unscheduled, routine, or emergency basis, as assigned

    Attends work daily and is engaged and on task - regular attendance is required

    Performs related work as assigned


Additional Information

This vacancy is open until filled for the 26-27SY and works in the Department of Facilities as a Plasterer.   Minimum annual salary is $48,671.23 ($23.40/hour). The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date and is subject to the HCPS promotion policy for internal candidates.

Minimum Requirements

Considerable knowledge of practices, tools and terminology of the plastering trade is required.  Must be able to lay out work and interpret plans and blueprints and demonstrate sophisticated skills in the performance of plastering tasks; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
