General Statement of Duties
Performs skilled work at the journeyman level in the plumbing trade. The work is performed under the general supervision of a the Plumbing Foreman.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs domestic, sanitary, storm, systems of all types and descriptions.
• Installs, maintains, and repairs natural gas and L. P. gas systems lines and equipment
• Attends work daily, and is engaged and on task - regular attendance is required
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Provides service and installation work for all types of plumbing requirements for the school system domestic, sanitary, storm and some site plumbing lines. Performs work on domestic water heathers, circulating systems, and gas lines.
This vacancy is open until filled and is available for the 26-27SY. This is a 12 month, 8 hours per day, 260 day position. Minimum salary is $51,502.78 ($24.76 hourly) or based on promotion policy for internal candidates. Salary is prorated based on official start date. Work hours are 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Minimum Requirements
Certified Journeyman Plumber. High school or trade school graduate. Experience in the plumbing trade. Possession of a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Operator’s license. Knowledge of the plumbing trade, required codes, standard practices, tools, and materials. Ability to read blueprints and specifications for plumbing work. Good physical condition required. Ability to work at high altitudes using scaffolds, ladders, etc.
