Provide oversight, supervision and strategic direction for district-wide substance use prevention and intervention initiatives and programs, ensuring alignment with best practices and integration within the broader school-based mental health framework. 

Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to assigned Student Support and Wellness staff, including personnel responsible for school mental health services, substance use prevention and intervention programming, and designated Section 504 case management functions. 

Support the division-level School Mental Health team in meeting all goals and objectives in alignment with the division’s strategic plan and organizing efforts across schools to ensure consistent standards of support are met district-wide.

Support and promote all aspects of the HCPS Comprehensive School Mental Health Model to assist in improving access and availability of evidence-based behavioral health promotion and prevention, early identification and intervention, and intensive intervention and support to meet the needs of children, youth, and families within the school community.

Plan for, implement, and sustain programming that promotes mental health and wellness among school administrators and staff utilizing best practices to support professional resilience, secondary trauma prevention, resiliency, self-care/self-compassion, efficacy/confidence building, and mental/physical health.

Serve on division-level mental health crisis response team and contribute regularly to school-based critical incident responses to assist school communities with planning, resources, and grief/loss support.

Oversee implementation, maintenance and evaluation of departmental programs (i.e. SchoolLinks, Vector Solutions, Teen Intervene, Active Minds, etc.).  

Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate targeted professional learning opportunities related to mental and behavioral health,  wellness, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices for school mental health professionals and other educational staff members.

Collaborate with the Section 504 Coordinator to assist in supporting the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of Section 504 to ensure compliance with federal regulations and effective delivery of student accommodations and supports. 

Serve on the Division Threat Assessment Team (DTAT) and the Family Assessment & Planning Team (FAPT) on a rotating basis.

Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities.   

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum annualized salary - $86,261 (The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date).

Master's degree in Counselor Education/Counseling/School Counseling. Evidence of successful experience and/or demonstrated skills appropriate to school counseling leadership, if appropriate, and possession of leadership skills as evidenced by the ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to work with diverse groups of people to derive goals and ultimately accomplish them.

Must possess: Thorough knowledge of current research and best practices for providing a comprehensive school counseling program; knowledge of the ASCA National Model , ASCA Student Standards: Mindsets & Behaviors for Student Success, ASCA Legal and Ethical Responsibilities, and ASCA Professional Standards; the ability to provide leadership and supervision of school counseling and/or Student Support and Wellness team members; the ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential. Additional endorsement in Administration and Supervision prek-12 or enrolled within an Administration and Supervision program required.
