• Provides school faculty professional learning and training on topics such as positive behavior supports; warning signs for students at-risk for serious emotional behavior, etc.
• Reviews data collection tools and data for functional behavior assessments and assists in the creation of behavior intervention plans
• Collaborates with teachers, school counselors, school social worker(s), administrators, and other school staff to provide evidence/research-based Tier II and Tier III school-based mental health interventions and services within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework to address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of identified students that impact behavior, attendance, and/or academics
• Completes data collection and progress monitoring on interventions/services provided in collaboration with school-based mental health team and reports to school data-based decision-making teams, as needed. 
• Serves as a member of the school-based mental health team, school safety and crisis team, as well as on school data-based decision-making teams (Child Find, Special Education Eligibility, IEP, Section 504, Intervention Team, Threat Assessment, etc.) 
• Complete psycho-educational evaluations and other assessments in compliance with mandated timelines.
• Performs structured observations of students in the school setting to provide data on  learning and/or behavior.
• Completes school-based mental health assessments as part of the Threat Assessment process
• Consults with teachers, administrators and other school personnel to help them better understand and work with individual student behavior.
• Collaborates with school-based mental health professionals across the division to provide in-person school mental health crisis response support following an emergency/critical incident impacting a school community based on the NASP’s PREPaRE model.
• Must be available to respond  to critical  in-person needs of school(s) while teleworking.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is required

This position works 12-months / 260-days per year. 

Annual salary will be prorated based upon actual work begin date.

curriculum and instructional practices including behavior management are required.  Must be knowledgeable and abide by the ethical standards of NASP. Highly developed counseling skills for crisis and non-crisis situations and a broad background in psychological/educational testing, test interpretation, and application to behavioral and instructional strategies are also required.  Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to meet the diverse needs of our school community.  Skills in managing time and appropriate resources.

Must hold or be eligible for a valid license issued by the Department of Education with an endorsement in school psychology. 

School psychologists must meet requirements established by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) for administration of tests. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 to 50 pounds occasionally, and may assist, move, or restrain students when required to intervene in student safety issues. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, lift, walk, stand, and hear.
