General Statement of Duties
Directs the operation of the School Nutrition Services kitchen in order to provide meals for students and staff and comply with all federal, state, and local guidelines. Manager II supervises a secondary school program.
• Implements and enforces policies and procedures
• Oversees employees’ Professional Growth Plans
• Supervise the preparation of all foods
• Cooks’ food and cleans as required
• Order all food, materials, supplies
• Performs meal services required
• Operates all kitchen equipment and trains others in the use
• Keeps daily records as required
• Maintains inventory control
• Provides training to kitchen staff in all aspects of food service operation
• Assigns job responsibilities and develops work schedules
• Maintains cooperative relationship with school administration
• Prepares special and regular reports in timely manner
• Accounts for all funds and handles as required
• Maintains standards of quality for sanitation, customer service, safety, and professional appearance
• Operates the cash register. Computer
• Monitor financial status of unit
• Implements financial controls too amanitin profitability
• Handles administration of rosters and collects funds for pre-paid meals
• Organizes and manages stockroom and cold storage
• Attend meetings, special functions, in services as required
• Attends work daily and is engaged and on task
• Performs related work as assigned
• May have to travel to other schools if needed
This is a 202 day - 8 hour per day position.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D. with minimum one- year food service. Knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal service, safety, sanitation and cleaning methods. Ability to do a variety of mathematical functions, keep accurate records and handle currency. Must be able to communicate effectively, make decisions, work under pressure, have a professional appearance and possess organizational and time management skills. Ability to direct and supervise the work of others. Must be able to work in warm environment, be on your feet for long period of time and lift 50 pounds. Must be SERV safe certified and maintain an active certification.
