General Statement of Duties
Performs responsible and specialized clerical and administrative support duties requiring a thorough understanding of departmental operations, policies, and procedures. Serves as a lead worker or supervisor in a section or unit, or holds a position of significant clerical responsibility. Work involves frequent contact with internal and external stakeholders, often of a sensitive or confidential nature, and requires independent judgment and initiative.
This position will serve as administrative support; generate reports; maintain contract agreements; Day Support and Transportation Invoices; ordering supplies; tracking waivers; collecting and distributing faxes; provide support and assist with clerical duties within administrative service.
- Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures; strong understanding of departmental policies, procedures, and services; ability to relay procedures and instructions accurately. ability to prepare and maintain moderately complex records and reports; ability to plan and prioritize work independently; strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in modern office practices and equipment; skilled in typing and data entry with speed and accuracy; ability to learn and use County-specific systems and databases.
- Strong communication skills; ability to interact professionally and courteously with the public, coworkers, and other departments; ability to handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Exercises independent judgment in handling routine and specialized tasks; may supervise or lead other clerical staff.
- Non-supervisory. May serve as a lead worker or supervisor of clerical staff; responsible for coordinating workflow and ensuring quality and timeliness of work.
- Works in a standard office environment with extended periods of computer use; occasional lifting of office supplies and equipment.
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to perform assigned duties; physical ability sufficient to perform routine office tasks such as sitting, standing, typing, and lifting light materials.
A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee. TB screening required.
Expected salary low range of listed salary scale. Entry level position.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED, and four (4) years of relevant clerical or administrative support experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
