General Statement of Duties
Work in this classification generally includes activities such as skilled typing, screening calls and visitors, scheduling appointments, organization and daily maintenance of a comprehensive filing system, and operation of office equipment. The incumbent must demonstrate initiative in all work and be able to make independent judgments in accordance with established practices and guidelines. May deal with sensitive or confidential materials and is responsible to the administrator to whom assigned.
• Manage Principal’s calendar
• Set up interviews for all vacant positions in the school
• Prepared disciplinary packets and letters
• Be back up to and assist clerical staff
• Prepares time and attendance cards and payroll data
• Liaison for FMLA/WC/PREP
• Process school related leave requests
• Works as the substitute coordinator using the Smartfind system
• Maintain employee files
• Keep and manage fiscal accounts; accounts payable and receivable
• Assist with school events as directed by the Principal
• Answers telephone and screens calls
• Greets visitors and screens appointments
• Records all appointments and maintains records of daily activities
• Types forms, letters, and reports from rough draft, or clean copy, using a typewriter or word processing equipment
• Requisitions office supplies and instructional materials and maintains inventory of same
• Receives, sorts and distributes mail
• Operates office equipment
• Sets up and maintains files alphabetically
• Completes travel expense vouchers
• Processes payroll
• Orders textbooks and maintains inventory
• Uses Powerschool system for student information
• Uses Oracle system for Time and Attendance and Payroll
• Attends work daily and is engaged and on task - regular attendance is required
• Performs other duties as assigned
This vacancy is open until filled. This is a 12 month, 8 hours per day, 260-day position working in the front office at the Academy of Virginia Randolph. Minimum salary is 51,007.57 or based on promotion policy for internal candidates. Salary is prorated based on start date of 7/1/26.

Starting in the 2023-24 school year, Henrico County Public Schools will designate select schools with high rates of vacant positions and provisionally licensed staff as Opportunity Schools. Minimum Requirements
A high school graduate or equivalent (business school or some college preferred). Leadership qualities and communication skills are necessary. Ability to use computers in a broad range of applications such as but not limited to the following: Word Processing; Spreadsheet Data Entry and Spreadsheet Design; Database Maintenance; and Internet Search Engines. Should be able to deal effectively with the public.
