General Statement of Duties
Position will act as an apprentice level tradesman. Assists Architectural Tradesmen in carpentry work involving repair and construction of buildings, furniture, and other related work. Performs under the general supervision of a foreman who inspects the completed work.
Assists in the construction and repair of cabinets, desks, tables, and other office furniture;
Assists in the construction of ADA furniture and equipment (seats, changing tables, swings, etc.);
Assists in the quarterly safety inspections (additional when needed) of ADA furniture/equipment;
Operates woodworking machinery;
Assists in the construction of small buildings and sheds;
Works with finishing materials and various products;
Assists in installation of resilient floor tile and acoustical ceiling tile;
Performs minor painting and related building trades work as needed;
Self auditing practices in safety awareness and procedures;
Daily attendance is required
Engaged and on task;
Performs overtime work other duties when required and as assigned.
This vacancy is open until filled and is a 12-month, 8 hour per day position. Minimum salary is $42,284.84 ($20.33 hourly). The salary for this position will be prorated based upon the official start date and is based on promotion policy for internal candidates.

Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school, trade school or equivalent. Basic knowledge of the common practices, materials, tools, and terminology of the carpentry trade. Ability to operate common woodworking machinery. Good physical condition required. Must have a valid Virginia Operator’s license.
