General Statement of Duties
Henrico Innovative Learning Coaches (ILC) work collaboratively with teachers and leaders to promote innovation and the purposeful use of technology to support LifeReady outcomes for all students. Henrico School’s strategic plan, Destination 2025 and the Educational Technology Plan for Virginia inform the work of an ILC. This work includes; the Profile of a Virginia Graduate, the Henrico Learner Profile, VDOE Digital Learning Integration and Computer Science Standards, and Henrico’s Teaching and Learning Framework. Each ILC jointly supports the assigned school(s) and the division as a member of the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Innovation in Henrico’s Division of Learning.
- Support the implementation of Henrico’s Strategic Plan, Destination 2025 including Henrico’s Teaching and Learning Framework (Aligned Curriculum, Instructional Model, and Ongoing Professional Learning) to advance student life readiness as defined by the Henrico Learner Profile.
- Support the implementation of the VDOE Educational Technology Plan; including Learning (Instructional Coaching), Teaching (Professional Learning), Leading (Innovative Leadership) and Infrastructure (Access and Safety), within the school and across the division.
- Model and implement the integration of the Virginia Digital Learning Integration (DLI) standards and the Virginia Computer Science (CS) standards into division level curriculum and teacher design of instruction.
- Champion the Henrico Learner Profile at the school and division levels to empower student agency through student exhibitions of learning and student portfolios.
- Model digital citizenship and support educators, students, and families in recognizing the responsibilities and opportunities inherent in living in a digital world by collaboratively developing and implementing a school-based Digital Citizenship Plan as required through the HCPS Safety Plan.
- Facilitate division and school-based professional learning and the development of resources for innovation and the purposeful use of technology as connected to school and division goals.
- Support school and division leaders to utilize HCPS approved digital resources to monitor and support student learning progress.
- Manage digital learning resources, create systems, and uplift the division process for digital learning resources at the school-level to advance the development of digital learning environments.
- Implement coaching cycles that support teachers’ ability to design, deliver, and assess learning experiences that promote innovation and the purposeful use of technology within the school and across HCPS.
- Demonstrate the use of quantitative and qualitative data to inform instruction and professional learning to inform the implementation of innovative practices that support the school's overall goals and annual School Quality plan.
- Engage in continuous professional learning at the division and department level and through professional networks, stay abreast of national and state standards, current trends and issues related to best practice.
- Regularly evaluate and reflect on professional practice and dispositions to improve and strengthen effectiveness as defined by the ILC Role Profile (framed by the International Society for Technology in Education’s (ISTE) Coaching and Student Standards).
- Support minor troubleshooting, fair share responsibilities, and other duties as assigned.
- This is a 11-month (239-day) position with a contractual start date of July 20, 2026.
- Salary will be prorated based on the official start date.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Virginia teaching license
- a minimum of three (3) years of classroom teaching experience
- Coaching and/or facilitating professional learning experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the classroom and school building.
- Ability to lift or move instructional materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to monitor students in various settings, including classrooms, hallways, and school grounds.
