General Statement of Duties
Installs, maintains and repairs various electronic systems used to support the daily operation of the schools.
• Completes work assignments as they are issued in a timely manner as they are issued.
• Installs, maintains and repairs the various electronic systems and equipment to include, but not limited to the following: bells, clocks, fire alarm systems, intercoms, projectors, radios, security systems, sound systems, telephones, and other systems and other equipment as assigned.
• Plans and implements preventive maintenance on all equipment referred to above.
• Serves as DOF liaison to instructional personnel concerning the operation and routine maintenance of equipment.
• Attends work daily and is engaged and on task- regular attendance is required
• Keeps records of equipment.
• Determines when equipment is not feasible to repair and recommends appropriate replacement.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Repairs, maintains or replaces electronic systems as assigned.
• Changes master bell programs as required.
• Keeps accurate records of work performed using assigned work orders.
• Instructs instructional personnel in use of new equipment as needed.
• Sets up and operates sound systems as required.
• Repairs and maintains punch card time clocks.
• Maintains truck stock.
This vacancy is open until filled. This is a 12 month, 8 hours per day, 260-day position. Minimum salary is 48,671.23 (23.40 hourly) or based on promotion policy for internal candidates
Annual salary will be prorated based upon actual work begin date.

Minimum Requirements
Graduation from high school or trade school and experience in the electronics field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. General knowledge of electronic theory, and the ability to read and work from technical drawings, manuals and schematic diagrams. General knowledge of the tools, equipment and materials used to maintain electronic systems and associated equipment. Possession of a valid Virginia Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
