General Statement of Duties

Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors, primarily by following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules

Essential Duties
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, and waxes floors; cleans restrooms, sanitizing fixtures and stocking supplies; washes windows, mirrors, and whiteboards.
  • Waste Management: Empties trash and recycling containers daily, ensuring proper disposal and cleaning of containers.
  • Building Security: Locks and unlocks doors/gates, checks for proper security of windows and doors at the end of shifts, and sometimes raises/lowers the flag.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular attendance is required.

This position is open until filled.  This is a 12-month position working at Davis Elementary for the 2026-27 school year, beginning 8/1/26.  The minimum salary is $38,499.97 or based on promotion policy for internal candidates.  Annual salary will be prorated based upon the official start date. Work hours are 1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.chris

Minimum Requirements


Physical requirements: lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; walking; pushing/pulling; climbing; stooping; kneeling; bending; standing; flexibility with lower and upper body; smelling; touching; talking; stamina; hearing

Work environment may include: Noise; fumes; grease; dirt/dust; inside/outside; working alone and with others; confined areas; chemicals; repetition; hazards

Knowledge of Cleaning Methods: Understanding of cleaning practices and supplies and industrial equipment (buffers, vacuums).

Ability to read and understand written instructions and supply labels, follow basic instructions and communicate effectively with staff.
